Blue-enamel Qianlong four-character mark and of the period (1736-95)
Delicately enamelled in shades of blue, yellow, pink, aubergine, green, yellow and white with fruiting and flowering gourd vines and bats on a gold ground, wear to gilding, chipped

Lot Essay

Robert Kleiner discusses a similar example, possibly the pair to the present lot, in Chinese Snuff Bottles, The White Wings Collection, no.9, p.16, concluding with Moss, Graham and Ka Bo Tsang, that this small group can be dated mark and period based on an analysis of the enamelling tones and techniques on comparable enamel glass wares.
