AN ANTIQUE WHITE JADE "THREE FRIENDS OF WINTER" PENDENT NECKLACE AND A BLACK AND WHITE JADE CARVING OF TWO CATS
The thick oval plaque pierced and carved as a pine tree issuing gnarled branches of pine and flowering prunus, its trunk lightly incised with bamboo stalks, symbolising the three friends of winter, the reverse inscribed yushou wannian, longevity of ten thousand years, suspended from a silvery grey cord necklace with nephrite double-hoop spacers, (one hoop cracked and restuck), 18th/19th century; together with a black and white jade carving of two felines, symbolising shuangxi, or double happiness
