A large Dutch Delft blue and white chinoiserie metal-mounted fountain urn and cover
1686-1701,marked for Adriaen Pieterszoon Kocks at de Grieksche A
(Kraantjesurn) the ovoid ginger jar-shaped body decorated with a central frieze depicting birds perched on branches issuing from intricate floral bouquets, further with hovering heron-type birds, the shoulders with a rich pattern of floral lambrequins or Franse Punt enclosing roundels depicting squirrels alternating roosters, the lower part with another floral border depicting fierce fishes, the upright neck and base with a border of lappets, the front mounted with a metal faucet, the domed cover en suite
