A German silver three-piece travelling tea-service
Mark of Carl August Lüdwig Freideberg, Berlin, circa 1850
Comprising teapot, covered sugar-bowl, and cream-jug, each plain cylindrical on collet foot with reeded borders, the teapot with detachable ivory scroll handle, detachable pierced collar and detachable cover with ivory ring finial, the teapot, collar and cover each engraved No 3. Thee., the cover also engraved with monogram A with Royal Prussian crown above for Empress Augusta, wife of Emperor Wilhelm I, the sugar-bowl with silver button handle, the bowl and cover each engraved Zucker in No 4., the cream-jug with detachable ivory scroll handle, the body engraved In No 4., each marked on base, also stamped '14 löth'
