A German silver beaker and cover
Mark of Lazarus Posen, Frankfurt, dated 1898
In the sixteenth century style, tapering cylindrical and with spreading lobed foot, chased beneath the everted rim with lobes and with foliage between, the detachable domed cover chased with similar band and with lobed baluster finial, the body engraved with two pennants with inscription beneath, with gilt interior, engraved beneath the base with WR monogram with Imperial German crown above, marked on base

19oz. (616gr.)
The pennants are those of Emperor Wilhelm II, King of Prussia, and the Kiel Yacht Club.
The inscription reads, 'Kiel-Travemünd, 1 JULI 1898.'
