A NORTH ITALIAN IVORY-INLAID TULIPWOOD, KINGWOOD, FRUITWOOD AND MARQUETRY WRITING TABLE
Second half 18th Century, the marquetry of a later date
Overall inlaid with foliate and floral scrolls, the shaped top centred by a classical scene depicting a draped youth with a lyre flanked by a trumpet player and two seated draped figures, within a moulded border, above a leather-lined writing slide, four small drawers inlaid with floral panels and a central larger drawer, with a waved back and shaped apron, on cabriole legs, missing sabots, inscribed three times in red ink '4546' and once in blue pencil '19968', replacements and losses to the marquetry
