An Imari barbers bowl
Edo Period, 18th century
painted in underglaze blue, coloured enamels and gilt with a central pomegranate within a border of shaped panels of ho-o in flight and scattered sprays of daisies and chrysanthemums, the underside with trailing prunus -- 10¼in. (26cm.) wide.
