A large tapering rectangular Kutani vase
Meiji Period
with flaring neck and moulded key fret pattern borders, painted and gilt with central panels of ronin in a snow covered riverside garden, figures in boats and at windows of retreats in blossoming river landscapes and a multitude of figures, some carrying banners, all on floral and foliate pattern grounds -- 16¼in. (41.2cms) high, signed, (restoration to neck).
