A Shino style Chawan [tea-bowl] and a Seto Chawan
The Shino chawan sealed Ritsu.., Edo Period (Early-Mid 19th Century)
The first, the lower part of the sides sharply everted, the upper part vertical, the interior and most of the exterior covered in a creamy crackled glaze over a reddish slip, the dark grey body visible on the foot and base, with impressed mark Ritsu; the Seto chawan of irregular form with everted sides roughly modelled with a spatula, the dark grey body covered in a creamy-grey crackled glaze overlaid with splashes of bluish-white glaze, restored chips to rim
