Second separate edition of the Fasti, the first with Marsus's commentary. Ovid's poems on the festivals and ceremonies of the Roman calendar were an opportunity for the retelling of Greek myths, and also relate superstitions such as the unluckiness of marriages in May, and the casting of straw men into the Tiber. The work was interrupted by the author's banishment, and though a draft of books VII to XII may have been written during his exile, only the first six books survive.
