Cast after a model by François Pompon, 1913-1918, executed after 1924 Signed in the maquette POMPON, foundry's mark CIRE/C. VALSUANI/PERDUE
The model in plaster, originaly 176 cm high (69¼ in.) was created in 1913-18. Hébrard made 3 casts between 1921 and 1924, before Valsuani started to cast a smaller version from 1924, of which edition this Lot is one
This piece was bought by the father of the present owner in 1928

Le modèle en plâtre, d'une hauteur de 176 cm, fut créé en 1913-1918. Hébrard l'éditera à trois exemplaires entre 1921 et 1924. Valsuani reprendra l'édition mais dans un format plus petit à partir de 1924, édition dont fait partie le bronze vendu ici
