SEVEN VINTAGES OF MAS DE DAUMAS GASSAC
Lying in Gloucestershire at Christie's designated warehouse, (Octavian)
The tasting notes on the following wines are from Michael Broadbents's new book - 'Vintage Wine' which is published by Little, Brown/Websters in association with Christie's.
Mas de Daumas Gassac--Vintage 1982
Languedoc. Estate-bottled
The blend of Bordeaux varietals (Cabernet Sauvignon dominating, plus Merlot , Malbec, and Cabernet Franc) giving it a most distinct nose, bricky, forthcoming, a touch of iron and, even after nine hours in the glass, very fragrant. On the palate, soft, fleshy, its richness masking the tannins. Last tasted Sept 2001. MB
