A gentleman, nearly full face in black coat and wearing a jabot, long dark hair and moustache
oil on copper, gilt frame with spiral cresting
oval -- 2 7/8in. (73mm.) high;
the actor David Garrick (1717-1779), in profile to right, in a scarlet coat, powdered wig en queue; Margaret, in off the shoulder dress, pearl necklace and earrings, hair in ringlets (English School, circa 1650); and the poet, Jean de la Fontaine (1621-1695), long brown hair
the former two oil on copper, the latter on ivory, gilt-metal and turned gilt frames
ovals, 4½ in. (114 mm.) to 1 1/8 in. (28 mm.) high
