A DIVERSE AND HIGH QUALITY COLLECTION OF FINEST BORDEAUX, SUPERB RED AND WHITE BURGUNDIES INCLUDING A WIDE RANGE OF DRC WINES AND TOP QUALITY GERMAN WINES FROM THE FINEST VINTAGES.
The following lots, 345 to 538, recently removed by Christie's Wine Department staff from a temperature and humidity-controlled cellar on the Continent. The wines have been stored, either in original wooden cases (see text of lots) or protective polystyrene cartons, since original purchase by the owner and the condition and appearance of the vast majority of the bottles is excellent. Practically every significant Bordeaux vintage of the post-war period is represented (1924-1994) plus a particularly wide range of wines from the estate of Domaine de la Romanee-Conti with vintages ranging from 1959-1990 and featuring particularly rare full-case lots of 1971 and 1978 vintages. An especially fine array of mature German wines from leading estates concludes the offering from this exceptional cellar
