Shaped oval, on four scroll and foliate feet with scroll terminals, with gadrooned, foliate and shell borders, with two branch, vine and shell handles, the conforming rising domed cover with detachable crown finial, the plain plated liner with two small scroll handles, the body engraved twice with a coat of arms with supporters and motto, the cover engraved twice with two crests, marked on base and cover, the base also stamped with retailer's mark WIDDOWSON & VEALE, STRAND

The arms are those of Denison quartering Conyngham impaling Bridgeman, for Lord Albert Denison, 1st Baron Londesborough (1805-1860) and his second wife Ursula (d.1883), daughter of Rear-Admiral Hon. Charles Bridgeman, whom he married in 1847. Lord Londesborough was the second surviving son of the 1st Marquess Conyngham. He inherited the estates of his uncle William Joseph Denison and therefore assumed the name and arms of Denison, being raised to the peerage as Baron Londesborough in 1850.
