Shaped oval, cast and chased in high relief with a battle scene of equestrian and other figures on a matted ground, the wide border with oak leaves and acorns and a gadrooned, shell and bearded mask rim, engraved with a coat of arms and later inscription, stamped with the Latin signature of Rundell Bridge and Co

The arms are those of H.R.H. Adolphus Frederick, 1st Duke of Cambridge (1774-1850), seventh son of George III, and of his wife Princess Augusta, third daughter of the Landgrave Frederick of Hesse Cassel, whom he married in 1818
