Mark probaly that of William Williams, London, 1746
Slightly tapering, on circular foot, the body profusely repoussée and chased with floral and foliate scrolls, scalework, rocaille and shells, a rococo cartouche to each side, the hinged domed cover chased with acanthus and floral scroll borders, with baluster finial, the part wood scroll handle with scroll terminals, with foliage-capped and chased scroll handle, the body engraved with a coat of arms and a crest, marked on body, the base engraved with scratchweight 25-7

The arms are those of Campbell quartering others as borne by the Duke of Argyle
