A set of three William and Mary silver casters
Mark of Christopher Canner, London, 1689
Comprising one larger and two smaller casters, each cylindrical on pierced domed circular foot, with reeded bordersand moulded mid-rid, the bayonet-fitting cover pierced with teardrops, hearts, foliage and lozenges, the top of the cover chased with scrolls and with four cherub busts, on a textured ground, with urn-shaped finial, each scratched-engraved under base with initials R W*S, each fully marked on body, one cover with maker's mark, and sterling mark partly visible, the other covers with traces of marks, some pierced through
The larger, 7in. (17.5cm.) high, the smaller pair, 5¼in. (13.25cm.) high
