A Sino-Tibetan bronze model of a Boddhisatva
18th/19th century
standing in samapadasana on a double lotus base, her left hand at her side in varada mudra, her right hand raised in vitarka mudra with a lotus branch holding an attribute by her right shoulder, wearing a long dhoti folding in pleats around her legs, turquoise inset earings and necklace, her gilt face surmounted by an elaborate headdress inlaid with hardstones, her hair tied in a domed painted chignon, the figure surrounded by a large flaming mandarla -- 14 1/8 in. (36cm.) high (minor old damages).
