A massive pair of Cantonese baluster vases and carved wooden stands

the handles modelled as twin smiling boys holding vases, standing on lotus flower bases, the shoulders with moulded sinuous dragons, the bodies painted and gilt with large panels of ladies and dignitaries gathered at leisure in interiors and smaller panels of equestrian warriors in landscapes, all on ground of exotic birds and bats amongst scattered fruit and flower sprays, within bands of dragons chasing flaming pearls -- 50¾in. (129cms) high, (head of one boy to handle restored, other vase with body crack); the stands 21½in. (54.5cms) high, (some cracks).
