A set of four buff pottery models of equestrian musicians
Tang Dynasty
the saddled horses standing four square on rectangular bases with their heads slightly raised and mouths open, the riders wearing tunics and hoods, each with a circular drum to their side and right arm raised in preparation to beat it, the other arm held tightly to their chest, traces of red, white and black pigments remaining -- 13in. high, (33cm.) high, (minor restoration and old wear).
