A pair of doucai rectangular jardinieres
18th century
with four short scroll feet and flaring flattened everted rims, painted with panels of cranes amongst foaming waves beside fruiting peach trees, the side panels with further cranes in flight holding peach sprays in their beaks, the rims with shou characters on swastika and flowerhead hatch-pattern grounds -- 13½in. (34.2cm.) wide, copper liners, carved hardwood stands.
