An oak tester bedstead, probably Gloucestershire, 17th century and later
with a moulded cornice and eleven panel tester carved wtih rosette filled lozenges, supported on foliate carved and double bulbous gadrooned columns with stepped plinths, the headboard with dentil moulding and scrolling grotesque mask carved frieze above two arcaded recessed panels flanked by three projecting terms tapering to masks headed with ionic type scrolls, the surrounds with inlaid detail and split moulding decoration, with a further horizontal panel below carved with serpent like creatures with forked tongues below arcading and flanked by further terms, on stile feet -- 64in. (163cm.) wide, 82in. (209cm.) high, 79in. (201cm.) long
