An oak and walnut panel-back armchair, English, late 17th century
the profusely carved back with scroll cresting and trailing foliate rail, above a panel carved with a geometrical motif and rosettes between carved uprights with scroll ears, the downswept arms on ring-turned supports and the intergral seat above scrolling friezes on block and turned legs joined by stretchers -- 25in. (64cm.) wide, 47in. (120cm.) high, 20in. (51cm.) deep
