An oak panelled chest, probably West Country, late 17th/early 18th century
with a four panel lid and three panel front with moulded frames and carved with foliate strapwork between similar uprights and below a frieze with an unusual combination of motifs, the lower frieze rail with cable detail on stile feet -- 57in. (145cm.) wide, 24½in, (63cm.) high, 23in. (58cm.) deep
