The shaped panelled back above outscrolled padded arms covered in fawn leather, each arm with ratchet mechanism to vary the angle, above a loose squab cushion and plain seat-rail, on cabriole legs, stamped '0899018', the arm hinges replaced, the upholstery later, the scrolled arm facings and the right-hand arm side panel possibly replaced

The shaped panelled back and scrolled arm of this hall bench relates to a suite of Kentian mahogany hall benches in the Stone Hall, Houghton Hall, Norfolk (J. Cornforth, Country Life, 28 March 1996, fig. 2, p. 53).
