Details
Vosne-Romanée, Aux Brûlées--Vintage 1985
Côte de Nuits, Méo-Camuzet
In original wooden cases
Lot 432 with light signs of old seepage
Until 1983, the domaine of Méo-Camuzet relinquished all of their production to 'leasees' who would work the land and make their own wines. Famed winemaker Henri Jayer was one of the few producers who had this share-crop arrangement for several of Méo's vineyard sites. In 1988, much of the contracts had been ceased and Méo-Camuzet was able to take on most of the full production of its own domaine's wines. Nevertheless, Jayer had a grand influence, inspiring wine-making practices as consultant for the Méo family as well as extensively encouraging the promotion of the vineyards' pedigrees through his own highly regarded wines.
