Berlin, Fromery Workshop, or Paris, the silver mounts Paris 1750-1752, with the charge and discharge marks of Julien Berthe 1750-1756, maker's mark indistinct including a letter 'C', later struck with the French 'hazard' mark 1798-1809
Shoe-shaped white enamel on copper box with uptilted pointed tip and high heel, the concave oval cover decorated with raised gilded flowers and scrolling foliage, the sides similarly decorated, reeded straps and translucent green enamelled buckle, bloodstone green enamelled base of heel and sole, the reeded silver mounts with flanged thumbpiece at the front of the shoe
