Rectangular white enamel on copper box, the slightly domed cover painted with the Bath of Venus, the four sides painted with other mythological scenes including Vertumnus and Pomona, Hercules and Omphale, the base with Jupiter and Io, and the inside of the lid with Jupiter and Antiope, reeded gold mounts chased with scrolls, flowers and foliage, slightly raised thumbpiece, the inside gold-lined; together with a Saxon Rococo gold-mounted amethyst snuff-box, Dresden circa 1740/1750, of cartouche-shape with tapering sides and slightly raised lid, the broad frosted gold mounts of the sides chased and engraved with scrolls, flowers and butterflies, reeded gold mounts with wavy thumbpiece
