Octagonal shimmering labradorite box, the panels on the cover and base with bevelled edges, the lid applied with a raised scene finely carved in ivory, tinted shell and mother-of-pearl depicting a déjeuner sur l'herbe of two ladies and two gentlemen in a landscape against an architectural background, framed by a narrow gold mount stamped with pellets on a matted ground, the broad upper mount of the sides stamped with flowerheads alternating with pellets on a frosted ground, the inside lined with porphyry
