A SWISS PARCEL-ENAMELLED GOLD BONBONNIÈRE
Geneva, circa 1800, maker's mark 'RPC'
Circular box, the independent cover and base of polished gold applied with a raised cannetille cagework of spiralling scrolls, the lid centred by a circular enamel plaque finely painted with a flower still life on a ledge, within a blue enamel border, the outer border of the lid enamelled in blue, black and white with a leaf pattern, the base centred by a translucent blue guilloché enamel roundel, the sides with a band of cannetille scallops on a polished gold ground
