Geneva, circa 1815/1820, maker's mark 'SC' in a vertical lozenge, the enamel plaque by Jean-Louis Richter (1766-1841), signed (lower right)
Rectangular flattened box with rounded corners, the cover inset with a rectangular enamel plaque finely painted on an opalescent enamelled wavy guilloché sunset ground with a shepherdess seated on a donkey with her cows, goats, sheep and dog, in a lake with mountainous landscape and village in the background, within a cast laurel and berry border, the panels on lid, four sides and base enamelled in opaque blue with a gold taille d'épargne wavy pattern, surrounded by a black enamel band, the four corners at the sides stamped with flowersprays on a rectangular matted gold ground, the base panel with four similar foliage spandrels
