A SWISS PARCEL-ENAMELLED FOUR-COLOUR GOLD SNUFF-BOX

Cushion-shaped box of oval section with tapering ends, the matted cover panel chased in four-colour gold with flowers and fruit framed by foliate scrolls, the matted base panel similarly framed and centred by an oval reserve enamelled with a posy of flowers on a translucent pink guilloché ground, the bulging front and rear panels chased in four-colour gold with mirrored foliage and shells around a central floral rosette, the left and right hand tapering polished gold ends enamelled with vertical blue stripes alternating with gold flutes, the cut oblong sides chased with two-colour gold foliate rosettes on a matted ground, slightly raised wavy plain gold thumbpiece
