The sculptural group 'Gone to Ground' representing a huntsman, his horse, dogs and groom all around a large tree, the huntsman with a spade, lantern and whip, one dog pointing to an aperture in the roots of the tree into which the quarry has disappeared, the groom leading the horse, with two further dogs, bundles of wood and ferns on the rocky landscape, on a detachable circular wooden plinth, with four scroll mounts applied with silver foliage, the sides applied with silver frames with strapwork and rocaille cresting above and below, marked on base and figures, the base also stamped PANTON STREET LONDON, the plinth marked on mounts, with wooden case
