A VERY FINE COPY OF THIS RARE 'DE LUXE' ISSUE OF HERING'S FINE SERIES OF VIEWS. This copy does not include either a letterpress title or text which is apparently not required. Abbey Travel 63: "According to the English Catalogue the book was published by Ackermann in 1845 ... and by Nattali in 1847 ... It seems likely, therefore, that Ackermann published the plates, without text in 1845, and that in 1847 Nattali, who was a remainder publisher, took over sets of the plates, added a text and re-published the work as above". There is no record of copies of the above edition having sold at auction during the past twenty five years. Tooley 260 (also recording the 1847 edition).
