(Upper cover detached, rubbed and scuffed). FIRST EDITION. Blackmer 1819: "Wilson's History is the basic contemporay account of the Anglo-French conflict in Egypt. He joined Abercromby at Aboukir Bay in March, 1801. He was present at the seige and capitulation of Alexandria, and he entered Cairo in July. Wilson took part in many of the Napoleonic campaigns; later he became governor of Gibralter". Brunet V, 1459.
