Lot Essay

This wristwatch was converted from a pendant watch, yet we have not yet been able to confirm the manufacturer or individual who did the work. The serial numbers, maker stamps and retailer signature to the snap on back suggest the original pendant watch caseback was modified when recased as a wristwatch.

A very similar example, reference 2524, is illustrated in Patek Philippe Wristwatches by Martin Huber & Alan Banbery, p. 317.
