Unused on cover / entire letter 1839 (2 Sept.) entire letter from Madras to Leghorn (Italy) showing very fine framed "MADRAS. NO/CARE OF MR WAGHORN/SUEZ" h.s. (Type 9) with manuscript "50" inserted, oval-framed "INDIA" and framed "PAQUEBOTS/DE LA/MEDITERRANÉE" in red with, on reverse, "MADRAS/Paid" and "MADRAS/STEAM LETTER/Paid" datestamps also in red; some minor discoloration along folds otherwise.
