A good 19th-Century lacquered-brass compound binocular microscope,
signed on the foot BAKER 244 High Holborn LONDON, with rack and pinion adjustment to the eyepieces, rack and pinion and micrometer focusing to the main body-tube held on an arm from the main limb, with mechanical stage and plano-concave substage mirror, the limb held on an axis between two uprights on a Y-shaped foot fixed to a mahogany base, the base also with a brass fitting into which the bull's-eye condensor screws, also with a separate brass base for the bull's-eye, with Baker ¼, ½, 1, 1½ and 2in. objectives, each in a canister with engraved lid, various substage accessories, a number of slide preparations, some by Wheeler, and some a box of unused glass Wheel Brand slides, in a mahogany carrying case with a drawer with a brass handle -- 13¾in.
