Tasting note: Lafon's finest red burgundy is his spectacular Volnay Santenots. Extremely dark in color, and with a totally unyielding nose, it offers a spectacular flavor profile that is immensely concentrated and deep. Revealing powerful layers of chewy black fruits (berries, plums, and cassis) and notes of fresh tar, this amazingly extracted, thick, and full-bodied behemoth is armed with an amazingly long finish, I highly recommend allowing this wine to age for a number of years.
