A Meissen group of Europa and the Bull
Circa 1880, blue crossed swords and cancellation marks, incised 2697., the decoration probably outside the factory
Modelled with Europa, wearing loose pink drape, seated on a garlanded bull with two maidens in attendance, one kneeling at Europa's feet passing her pink roses from the basket of flowers beside her, the other garlanding the bull, on shaped oval mound base moulded and gilt with scrolls (some damages and restoration)
