A CORINTHIAN BLACK-FIGURED KOTYLE
Attributed to the Circle of the Bird-Frieze Painter, Circa 580 B.C.
The thin-walled vessel with an animal frieze, one side with a bird of prey with its head turned back, between two griffin-birds with sickle-shaped wings, the other side with an elongated goat, a bird of prey to its right beneath one of the handles, with rosettes of various forms in the field, the frieze framed above and below by three narrow bands, the middle band in red, with rays above the foot, a band of vertical wavy lines painted with a multiple brush below the rim
