A GREEK TERRACOTTA FEMALE PROTOME
Late Archaic Period, Circa 500-480 B.C.
Perhaps from Sicily, mold-made and white-slipped, wearing a stephane and a himation pulled up over the top of her head, the stephane painted with checker squares in black, the himation with zig-zag folds in black along her neck, her crinkled hair in black, with almond-shaped eyes, a slight smile and protruding chin, wearing disk earrings
