TWO APULIAN RED-FIGURED LEKANIDES AND A LEKANIS LID
Circa 330-320 B.C.
The lid of one with a crouching bejeweled winged Eros, holding an ivy leaf and an alabastron, and a profile female head, palmettes in between, a band of wave on the rim, radiating lines on the knob handle; the lid of the other with a flying bejeweled Eros extending his hands towards a deer, its head turned back, and a draped woman seated on a flower, holding grapes and a phiale, a fillet and alabastron in the field, palmettes in between, a band of wave on the rim, radiating lines on the knob handle, vertical lines on the rim of the bowl; the lid with a draped woman seated on rocks, holding a cista and grapes, and a crouching bejeweled winged Eros, holding a cluster of grapes and a mirror, palmettes in between, a band of wave on the rim and radiating lines on the knob handle
