A GREEK TERRACOTTA FEMALE FIGURE
Canosan, Hellenistic Period, Circa 300 B.C.
Depicted standing with her weight on her right leg, the left leg relaxed and bent at the knee, the left arm bent acutely upward at the elbow, wearing a himation over a chiton, and a garland of ivy and berries, the ties falling on to her shoulders, with a torc and a pair of disk earrings with pyramidal pendants, a strap handle in back, voluted above her head, preserving traces of polychromy throughout
