SIX ITALIC POTTERY VESSELS
Apulia, Circa Late 4th-3rd Century B.C.
Including a Messapian trozzella, attributed to the Carovigno Group, the body with geometric ornament in black on a cream ground, the handle-disks each with an eight-pointed star; a globular jar with a cylindrical neck, the body and neck with plain bands, a band of cross-hatched diamonds, and bands filled with cross-hatching; a Daunian kantharos with a flat bottom and high strap handles, with geometric ornament in black and red on a white ground; an globular amphora with a cylindrical neck and twin handles, the body with red and black ornament on a cream ground; a Canosan bag-form askos with twin cylindrical necks with flaring mouths, both sieved, one at the top, one at the base, the two joined by an arching handle, with bands of ornament in black, pink and red on a cream ground; and a Daunian spherical jar, with a flaring neck and a wide strap handle, the body with black and red ornament on a cream ground
