A GREEK BRONZE HYDRIA HANDLE
Circa 1st half of the 6th Century B.C.
Each end of the shaft with a pair of crouching lions arranged horizontally with their heads turned out, the mane and whiskers incised, their hind-quarters meeting along the grooved shaft, the smaller pair at the top with their tails descending, the pair at the bottom with their tails rising, the handle terminating below in a palmette, rivets for attachment to the vessel at the top of the shaft behind the lions
