AN EGYPTIAN LIMESTONE FRAGMENTARY STELE
New Kingdom, Dynasty XVIII, 1550-1307 B.C.
Sculpted in raised relief, a shen-sign flanked by sacred wadjet-eyes in the lunette over a seated husband and wife to the left, his hieroglyphic caption fragmentary, hers translated "his wife, the mistress of the house," she holds a blossom in her right hand and rests her left hand on her husband's shoulder, he holds a bolt of cloth in his right hand while sniffing a lotus flower, offerings in the center, two figures to the right, the first inscribed in hieroglyphs "his son Nesj-hetep (?)," and the second "his wife, the mistress of the house, Baket-en-Re," the son holding a flowing vessel, his wife holding a blossom
