THREE MESOPOTAMIAN POTTERY INCANTATION BOWLS
Circa 4th-7th Century A.D.
Including a conical bowl inscribed in Judeo-Aramaic with a ten-line spiral incantation for Maiharnahod Bat Botus, now mostly illegible, the incantation invoking the healing of bad dreams; a small hemispherical bowl inscribed in Judeo-Aramaic with a four-line spiral incantation invoking a list of angelic names, many of which are nomina barbara, or nonsense names, the incantation begins and ends with "celebrate, celebrate, celebrate;" and a shallow bowl with an illegible three-line spiral incantation with an orans figure to the right
