AN EASTERN MEDITERRANEAN CORE-FORMED GLASS AMPHORISKOS
Circa Mid 2nd Century B.C.-Early 1st Century A.D.
Cobalt blue in color, the ovoid body with broad, rounded base, sloping shoulders and inward-sloping rim-disk, with an applied opaque turquoise marvered thread attached at the rim and wound spirally along the entire length of the body, tooled into a festoon pattern along the shoulders and a feather pattern at the center of the body, the twin handles and knob-base transparent yellow
